SMT aims to mobilise the tissues, reduce the build-up of tension and promote recovery. Many of us, whether participating in regular sport or exercise or not, can benefit from regular massage which can really work to prevent the soft tissues from becoming dysfunctional and painful. It can also be a vital tool for an athlete or performer to maintain or improve sports performance and tissue recovery. Specific techniques can be used for both pre and post event; with pre-event massage aiming to stimulate the neuromuscular systems.
